5 Interior Design Trends for 2021 & Beyond

Making the right first impression for your interior spaces can help your residents & visitors feel welcome. If you are a business, this first impression can go a long way in helping you conduct your business.

For this reason, you must keep with current and future interior design trends, and pick the best choice for your case. In this article, we’ll go into several popular interior design trends that are gaining popularity in 2021, and explain when and why they should be used.

Naval Colors:

Naval and dark blue colors are the new colors that represent elegance and status. As opposed to the more traditional black colors usually associated with those attributes, naval colors are more inviting. But unlike lighter shades of blues, naval blue also represents authority and professionalism. That’s because they’re associated with authority figures like Police and Military uniforms.

Wooden Style:

Inspired by Scandinavian decor style, the use of wood as the dominant material for furniture, floors, walls, and even ceilings is very popular among luxurious estate mansions and resorts. This earthly element pairs exceptionally well with soft and cozy textiles (like fur rugs, feathery blankets, etc.) making them even more attractive.

You should go with this style if you’re aiming for a more comfortable, homelike, and minimalistic style. Definitely check out our California Collection for inspiration.

Natural Elements:

The Natural Elements trend aims to bring nature into our homes. Natural and organic materials decorations are meant to remind us of the exterior life, creating mixed interiors with nature. It strengthens the human-nature connection and can be paired with the previously mentioned wooden style.

This style is best used to complement an outgoing and adventurous style of decoration. You would preferably use this style if your home or business are located near natural sceneries and away from the noise of the city. However, you could still use some natural elements in city hubs if it aligns with the general themes of your interior decorations.

A good example is the Sonesta Hotel & Casino located in Cairo, Egypt. While it is located in a central city hub in Cairo, they choose to integrate natural elements in their decorations to give their guests a feeling of a nature getaway without ever leaving the city.

You should aim for this style if you want your guests to experience a specific oriental culture while adding a modern layer to the decorations and lighting to enhance the experience.

This style is best suited for restaurants, lounges, and businesses that have an oriental cultural theme tied to their brand or business.

Grey is a cool neutral color scheme, appropriate for connecting technology and modernity into elegant spaces. It is a trend that is gaining traction in suburban housing, but is also being adopted by giant well-established corporations and banks to convey neutrality, elegance, and modernity all at the same time.
